Passage appears in new light

19.01.2016

The official premiere of the new light installation took place at DomAquarée on 19 January 2016 in conjunction with the first event of the year. The imposing pendant luminaires made of translucent acrylic, each weighing 120 kg, were designed with the aid of Kardorff Ingenieure Lichtplanung GmbH. To prevent the free-hanging luminaires from swaying in windy weather, they feature a special damper mechanism and associated shock absorbers. The lights are also fitted with controllable LED rings, making a range of different lighting scenarios possible.

These effects were on display for all to enjoy during a light show with Vivaldi’s “Winter” providing a musical accompaniment. Bathed in the light of 14 cylindrical pendant luminaires, the passage between Karl-Liebknecht-Straße and St.-Wolfgang-Straße is now even more inviting. Why not take a look for yourself?
